The reviews are in and Flaps Down is a hit!

Here's what everyone's saying about Flaps Down!!!!

Carefree Rock by Flaps Down (Ken Maiuri, Daily Hampshire Gazette, April 20, 2000)

Local rock quartet Flaps Down have a new CD out called "Innocent," and nearly every song is propelled along by an anthemically strummed electric guitar. The chords ring and jangle, like the musical equivalent of carefree driving with the windows rolled down. The breezy rush is fitting for a band that says in its bio it's "fulfilling childhood dreams of making music together."  See the entire review as published in the Daily Hampshire Gazette.

Flaps Down Innocent (Duke Aaron, VMag, March 2000)

There are nine songs here and the musicianship is good.....These guys are definitely having fun and it comes out in their music.  If you like fun bar-band songs that are upbeat and non-threatening this is for you.....if you really like John Cafferty, for example, or those all too rare but truly excellent bar bands, then pick this up.

Flaps Down (Music Revue Magazine, May 2000)

.....take comfort in the fact that I can find joy in something as simple as discovering an album that transcends my expectations....Take the working class lyrical nostalgia of Springsteen....slap on some...Hootie and the Blowfish...it was pure American pop genius....Hasn't Don Henley made a career of it...folk would love it...a slice of middle aged rock Americana.

The Year So Far

The year 2000 continues to be the biggest and best year yet for Flaps Down.  Our new CD called Innocent has arrived in the stores, so check it out at B-Side Records, Turn-It-Up, and Dynamite Records in Northampton, or maybe buy a CD through the mail.

Listen to a few of our tunes on MP3.com.  It's a great way to check things out before you buy.

Our mission continues to be to put Flaps Down on the map, and so far this year's events have really helped the cause!

Flaps Down's  WPVQ Barnstormin' Concert at the Northampton Airport with national acts was a great experience.  Check out the reviews and photos.  Here's Steve Nalewanski, Elena Ciampa, Ed Osepowicz, and Walter Bak on the big stage.

Band Profile

Take a look around to learn all about Flaps Down , see where we are going, where we've been, or maybe buy a CD

As much as we'd like it to be, there is no way we can be full time rock and roll stars.  Family, friends and work (ughh!) come first.  But that doesn't stop us from devoting lots of time to Flaps Down though.  Check out our first CD and let the music speak for itself.
